Airfloat completely redesigned its drive on dock system known as Eirglide this year. Recognising the need for a low maintenance drive on dock to suit a variety of craft and with their considerable background in the marine world we created the perfect solution.
A lot of drive on docks rely on rollers and other fitting to make the system work, however we at Airflot know that you the customer want to spend more time on the water and less time worry about maintenance and the costs involved. As a result we have designed our system without rollers and proved how well the system still works.
In this case we were tasked with a drive on dock for a large Redbay RIB powered by a 250HP engine. Redbay boats are known for their seakeeping and durability, however they are also heavy boats. The Eirglide system is considerably more buoyant than our competitors and the photos show it all. The boat in question here is 7.8m long and is well supported out of the water by our system. Despite the boat having a rubber keel guard using our unique method of spreading the weight of the boat, it easily drives on and off the dock.
Our customer wanted to use his time on the water so the team at MarineServices we drafted in to secure the dock to Dun Laogahire marina. In conjunction with the marina the system was installed in a matter of hours with a lead time of days for the client ensuring he could concentrate on the most important item, having fun with his boat!
